Those new students who came to study in France this year have been in France for almost two months. While they are making efforts to get accustomed to the new life and study, they are also facing the application for OFII and a lot of internship-related information. And for those senior students who will graduate soon, they are also faced with a lot of problems concerning finding a job and staying in France.

To help those Chinese students to solve the problems about long-term residence, work permit, APS visa etc., Union des Chercheurs et des Étudiants Chinois en France(UCECF) and ESSEC CHINE prepared a lecture at ESSEC’s La Défense campus on October 16, of which the speaker is Ms. Fiona MOUGENOT, the founder of Expat Partners.

Before the lecture, Mr. jingshun YAO, the vice-president of UCECF, Ms. Zhengning WANG, the president of ESSEC CHINE and Mr. Lei FU, who works at Expat Partners each made a brief introduction about their organization or company. Mr. YAO and Ms. WANG also presented their expectation for UCECF and ESSEC CHINE this year. For example, UCECF will increase the connection between each school, helping them to build their own student unions and also increase the connection with alumni in China, providing them with recruitment advertising via online information platform. For ESSEC CHINE, it’s going through the process of transferring from a simple association to an organized student union. In November and December, ESSEC CHINE will hold several large events, such as Afterwork in Paris and International Chinese Day in ESSEC.

The “Working in France” lecture is offered by Expat Partners, a professional consultancy focused on work visa, residence permit and other issues about working abroad. During the lecture, Ms. MOUGENOT introduced in detail the work permit as a foreign student while studying, the application and renewal of long-term residence, the application of APS visa and the process during change of status. During the Q&A part, Ms. MOUGENOT also responded to students’ various questions about Skills and Talents Permit, Profession Libérale, Carte Bleue européenne and other visa types. This practical lecture allowed students to know clearly about the possibility of working in France and the related visa regulations.

After the lecture, UCECF and ESSEC CHINE prepared a buffet, allowing those students from different schools and different grades to have a deeper communication and to learn more experience about study, internship and work in France.

Through this cooperative experience, UCECF and ESSEC CHINE learned a lot. In the future, UCECF and ESSEC CHINE will provide more practical and interesting events to Chinese students in France. Stay tuned with us!
